Konrad K. Pollesch was born in april 1940. From 1958 to 1963 he studied Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University. He visited many countries, among which are: Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Sweden. He has been to the USA twice as a scholar - the first time from the Kosciuszko Foundation (1979), then from the State Department (1988). He is involved in portrait and landscape photography. He is also specialized in photographing pieces of art and documenting cultural events. He is the author of the photographs from a series "Museums of the World" and two monographic, author's publication about the Czartoryski Museum in Cracow. He co - operates with a number of magazines in Poland and abroad. Between 1987 and 1990 he documented the Tadeusz Kantor's theatre Cricot 2, which resulted in organizing the following exhibitions: "I will never come back here - photographs from the rehearsals", Cricoteka, Cracow 1988; "Kantor in the Pollesch's photography", Palace under the Sheep, Cracow 1989, "Kantor and his theatre", The Cultural Centre of Nowa Huta, Cracow 1992; "Kantor - the second anniversary of his death", Atelier Photographic Gallery, Cracow 1992; "Tadeusz Kantor fotografato da Pollesch", the Polish Institute, Rome, December-January1995/1996.
He has been using the gum-bichromate technique for making photos since 1985. They have been presented in many exhibitions in Poland and abroad, for example "30 gum - prints from Remuh cemetery", Hadar Gallery, Cracow1991; "Twenty gum prints from a single negative ", ZPAF Gallery, Cracow 1992; "Pollesch in ATUT-gum - prints", ATUT Photographic Club Gallery, Konin 1995; "Konrad K. Pollesch - gum - prints", Small Photographic Gallery ZPAF, Torun 1995; "Gum - prints", B&B Photographic Gallery, Bielsko-Biala 1996, "Pollesch's gum - prints", POKAZ The Critics' Gallery, Warsaw, August 1996.
Since 1991 he has been a member of the European Society of Pictorialists with its seat in Brussels.
For some time the artist was associated with the Cracow television. They made there a series of programs dedicated to photographical landscape, noble techniques, collecting old photographs and the exhibition of photographic portraits of the Jagiellonian University professors "Gowned and Informal"(Cracow 1986).
In February of 1989 the Polish Television broadcast a series called "Portraits", in which a 50 minutes' film called "Konrad P. - a story about an eye" directed by Stefan Szlachtycz, was broadcast. together with Dariusz Pawelec the author made a series of educational programs for the school youth about the photography "Photos for my aunt" (July 1994 - January 1995).
From 1971 to 1997 he conducted didactic classes on photography for the students of the Institute of Archaeology of the Jagiellonian University.

Konrad K. Pollesch has taken part in a number of group art presentations among which were "Modern Polish art photography", Warsaw, Wrclaw 1985; International Biennal of Graphics, Cracow 1986 (gum - prints); "40 years of ZPAF", Warsaw 1987;
"Polish photography 1889-1979", New York, Chicago, Paris, London; "Force, sex, nostalgy", Old Gallery ZPAF Warsaw 1989 (first prize in "Nostalgy" section).

He has over 50 individual exhibitions in his art output, in Poland and abroad, for instance USA, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Israel, Czechoslovakia, and France.

Works of the artist can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, National Museum in Wroclaw, National Museum in Warsaw, Museum of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Museum of the History of Photography in Cracow, Museum of Modern Art in New Ÿork, International Center of Photography in New York, Library of Congress in Washington, Musee d'Art et d'Histoire in Fryburg (Switzerland) as well as in many private collections in Poland and abroad.
